CHANGE OF THE MOBILE NUMBER PORTABILITY PROCESS

WindTre informs that as of November 7, 2022, as required by Resolution 86/21/CIR the rules regarding the Mobile Number Portability process change.
The changes, which intensify checks throughout the portability (MNP) process, are intended to protect Customers even more.  


The main changes to the MNP process include:
  • The old operator's SIM associated with the number to be ported is working; therefore, it will no longer be possible to apply for number portability in case of a broken, lost or stolen SIM. In such cases, it will first be necessary to proceed with the replacement with a new working SIM from the old operator
 
  • There is a prior verification of the real willingness to proceed with the change of operator: the request for mobile number portability (MNP) must be verified by the new operator with the referent\delegate of the company, based on the so-called prevalidation procedures established by the resolution 
 
  • The legal contact person\delegate of the company will be responsible for number portability and the necessary prevalidation for all SIMs subject to MNP
 
  • It is advisable, that the real holder of the SIM at the other operator be verified before proceeding
 
  • New documents to be submitted to finalize the portability request are added.  The visura will always be mandatory along with the identification documents of all the actors involved and the appropriate proxies where necessary. PEC address and telephone numbers will be an integral part of the process. 
 
  • SMS will be sent to the Customer to inform him/her about the acceptance of the request and subsequent change of operator and the transfer of the remaining credit if requested and applicable.
 
 
The obligation to identify the customer requesting portability and the acquisition of the copy of the necessary documents (identity document and tax code, Chamber of Commerce visura / certificate of VAT attribution, any proxy of the Legal Representative to the delegate and identity document of the legal representative) remains unchanged.

Similar methods of preventive control will also be adopted in the case of requests for replacement and change of SIM header, in order to verify that the same is authorized by the company that owns the number that is the subject of the request.
